Capturing The Operational Advantage

The Performance-enhanced Airborne Reconnaissance Low (PeARL) camera system is a suite of low-altitude sensors with flexible configurations that provide sharp, precise, high-resolution aerial imagery in support of mission requirements. 

The PeARL collection systems have been employed by the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) on both manned and unmanned platforms in the most challenging combat environments since 2003. PeARL systems are currently fielded in support of U.S. operations in the Middle East and South America.  

The highly customizable sensors provide Electro-Optical (EO) imagery at a spatial resolution of four centimeters from altitudes of 10,000 ft Above Ground Level (AGL). The simple and adaptable data acquisition and viewing software allows for extensive automation and supports multiple output file formats (GeoTiffs Tiffs, NITFs, JPGs) at up to 14-bit radiometric resolution.

PeARL 6

PeARL 6 features up to six industry-leading 29Mp cameras with 400mm diffractive optic lenses featuring image stabilization and streamlined focusing. The system includes: 

  • A broad operating window (8-25K ft. AGL operating altitude) 
  • 4cm Ground Sampling Distance (GSD) at 10K ft. AGL 
  • 5,500ft wide collection swath at 10K ft. AGL 
  • Real-time metadata processing and projection creation 
  • Orthorectification & automated image enhancements 

PeARL Flex

PeARL Flex offers all the features of a PeARL 6 system as well as a bayonet-style mount interface for the L-3 WESCAM MX 15, 20, and 25 aircraft mounts. 

This system boasts exceptional three-dimensional (3D) extraction performance and fits standard Full Motion Video (FMV) sensor mounts requiring minimal aircraft alteration. The system is designed to rapidly fit the mission needs of an interfacing aircraft – including single-pass 3D extraction of the processed collection data – and includes: 

  • Roll-on/roll-off capability  
  • Fits standard full-motion video bayonet mount  
  • Minimal aircraft alteration 
  • A broad operating window (3-25K ft. AGL operating altitude)  
  • Single-pass 3D capable image collection 

PeARL Lite

Developed specifically for smaller aircraft and UAVs, PeARL LITE is aerodynamically designed for minimal flight performance impact and is capable of capturing hundreds of square miles in eight hours from an operating altitude of 2,500 to 10,000 ft AGL. 

PeARL Flash

PeARL Flash provides user-defined, on-demand 2D/3D processing of sensor agnostic geospatial data that is scalable to a customer’s in-house, virtual, or cloud-based data processing environments.  

The pixel-to-pixel reconstruction approach enables a true representation of the collected space. PeARL Flash includes: 

  • Dense 3D extraction  
  • Seamless product export to Google Earth™, NASA WorldWind, ESRI, and FalconView 
  • Georeferencing  
  • Orthorectification  
  • 3D modeling 
  • Seamless mosaicking and blending  
  • Support standard outputs for Augmented/Virtual Reality and gaming exploitation systems
