Since the launch of the MILVET Program in August of 2019, and the creation of the MILVET Task Force in October 2020, Parsons has further deepened its commitment to the Veteran community worldwide.
Our Mission is to create an environment that attracts Veterans, places value in them, cultivates their careers and successes, recreates esprit de corps, and builds high-performance teams to benefit the delivery of services and projects for our customers.
We will continue to be a leader in the industry championing veterans’ advocacy and support. To that end, we have adopted four pillars that will be the basis of our program activities going forward – attract, retain, measure, and lead. These pillars are the foundation of our latest initiative, Operation Veteran Challenge, in which we will work with our teammates across Parsons to deliberately increase the current veteran headcount of the total U.S. workforce.
Attract – The MILVET team will partner with key organizations such as Hiring Our Heroes, Microsoft Software and Systems Academy, and the DOD Career Skills Bridge Program to recruit high potential transitioning service members and help them transfer their military experience to successful careers at Parsons.
Retain – Leveraging our industry-leading Veterans Benefits Package and the latest updates to the Parsons mentoring tools, we will work to create an environment that provides our Veteran employees (new and old) with an understanding of the unlimited growth potential both personally and professionally available to them at Parsons.
Measure – The Parsons MILVET Team will be working closely with the Veteran population across Parsons to ensure improved accuracy and self-identification in Workday to help capture the full Veteran headcount across our organization.
Lead – By tackling this goal, we are continuing to help set the standard across our industry for how best-in-class organizations such as ours can serve and support the Veteran community.
Operation Veteran Challenge will run from the Fourth of July until Veterans Day 2020. We look forward to providing you with updates and challenges along the way to help our team meet this aggressive goal.
