Systems Engineering And Integration (SE&I)

System-Of-Systems Engineering At Scale

Our mission is your mission. Our Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Services provide a broad set of capabilities that make up the systems engineering product lifecycle. Our highly trained and accomplished multi-disciplined engineers bring a breadth and depth of experience in systems engineering to the federal sector.

Built and refined through years of working with our federal customers in weapons, missile, intel and space communities, our SE&I service delivers a repeatable, proven process with internal audit validation in alignment with INCOSE, IEEE, and MIL standards as well as a deep understanding of DoD 5000.01 acquisition directives.  Our personnel possess a wide range of certifications including, but not limited to, PMP, Professional Engineer, SAFe, AWS, and INCOSE certified systems engineer.

We know a strong, effective systems engineering framework and methodology is a critical enabler for our customers as they procure and guide the development, testing deployment, and evolution of complex, advanced technology national defense systems. We will partner with you and bring our talent, proven techniques, and tools to bear to achieve the best outcomes for your mission.

Systems Engineering And Integration Capabilities

Program Systems Engineering And Integration Support Service
Our talented pool of multi-disciplined systems engineers provide overarching engineering oversight to our customers. Our SE&I service gives our customers peace of mind by ensuring they have a partner who understands the full spectrum of the system engineering lifecycle and the technical reviews required throughout the life of a product. We support our customers with root cause analysis, analysis of alternatives, and technology research while leveraging our broad technical skillsets to deliver technical white papers and analytical products for strategic decision making.
Requirements Elicitation And Management
We provide extensive support and oversight of technical and functional requirements in all domains. Our goal is to ensure our customers not only obtain the product they desire but attain it with agility and assurance of a working product. We lead the way in working with our customers to elicit product requirements for usability, scalability, portability, reliability, sustainability, security, and quality. Our engineers have expertise in a broad spectrum of COTS requirements management tools to establish full traceability throughout the lifecycle of a product, ensuring each requirement is necessary, verifiable, and attainable.
Acquisition Support
We provide acquisition support to our Department of Defense customers, leveraging years of experience to ensure that the best product is procured to meet our customer’s needs. Sharing and applying Parsons lessons learned from federal projects provides our customers the opportunity to prevent costly acquisition mistakes. Our systems engineering team members have extensive weapons and software technical knowledge coupled with a clear understanding of statutory and regulatory guidance for acquisition pathways as identified in DoD 5000.2. Using our 40+ years of experience coupled with technical expertise, we ensure our customers are informed, supported, and prepared to execute any acquisition with agility to meet the critical needs of our nation.
Risk Management
Our risk management approach is a central element in all program and mission management activities and is consistent with industry best practices. Our SE&I Services provides risk management support using a well-established risk management process, used for more than 10 years by the Missile Defense Agency, at the integrated System of Systems (SoS) level, and in conjunction with the individual systems and their subsystems/components to identify, manage and mitigate technical and programmatic risks.  Our multi-layered risk detection approach supports requirements, design, hardware/software development, and testing.
Validation And Verification Testing Support
We’re working with cutting edge technologies and tools to ensure products meet technical standards, configurations, and interoperability requirements with agility. Our teams are well trained in agile testing while leading and conducting major acquisition test events for our federal customers.
We utilize a proven validation and verification testing service, which is providing extensive testing for some of the largest defense capabilities for our nation. Our teams partner with our customers to validate and verify that every technical requirement is not only completed and delivered but meets the quality standards required for delivery.
Digital Engineering And MBSE Services
Parsons Digital Engineering Framework (PDEF) provides the capability for accelerated analytics and agile prototyping, supporting rapid development and deployment of capabilities through a leading-edge digital-based system engineering development and execution framework, leveraging model-based system engineering (MBSE) tooling and modeling & simulation (M&S) performance tools.
PDEF Is The Modernization Of Systems Engineering And Integration
Modern digital engineering capabilities provide the means for truly integrated analytics supporting programmatic and technical decisions throughout the product lifecycle for complex systems. Techniques underlying these capabilities include:
  • Multivariate Optimization
  • Multi-disciplinary Analytics and Optimization
  • Design of Experiments
  • Sensitivity Analysis
Launch Manifest Systems Integrator Program
Today, we are the prime contractor responsible for the U.S. Space Force small satellite integration efforts through our Launch Manifest Systems Integrator (LMSI) program.
As part of this effort, we’re providing the full range of hardware and system integration services, including the design, assembly, testing, and processing required to integrate small-satellite payloads onto a launch system. Our engineering and integration team performs the full scope of designing, assembling, testing, and integrating systems to meet responsive launch mission needs.
Our ground support equipment is enabling efficient and effective access to space for small satellites on commercial, national security, and small class launch systems. In addition, Parsons wrote the Systems Engineering Management Plan for this effort and employs the following:
  • Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom-built interface carriers involving Evolved Secondary Payload Adapter (ESPA) ringsCubeSat dispensers – 5-meter-diameter and 2.5-meter-diameter dual payload carriersAvionics sequencers Payload separation systems
