This Is Just The Beginning

From a young age, I was always fascinated by how things worked and how ideas transformed into tangible realities. I felt the same way towards bridges, roads, tunnels and towering buildings, captivated by the thought that people were behind these transformative pieces of infrastructure and early on I knew I wanted to be part of them too. As an aspiring Emirati engineer, I felt inspired to be part of something bigger and realized that engineering was my path to get there; it was a means for me to contribute to the development of the UAE’s impressive infrastructure and drive progress, allowing me to play a role in building a sustainable future and make a real impact.
I wanted to be part of my country’s growth journey, contributing to projects that serve communities and leave a legacy for future generations which ultimately led me to pursue my engineering degree.
Choosing Parsons
When it came time to start my career, Parsons was front of mind. What truly drew me to Parsons is its corporate quest to deliver tomorrow’s solutions today. As an Emirati electrical engineer, I take great pride in contributing to my country’s rapid development and Parsons is behind some of the most ambitious projects in the UAE and the region at large, projects that redefine cities and improve lives like the Zayed international Airport, Dubai Metro, Dubai Design District (D3), managing the RTA’s Intelligent Traffic Systems Centre and so much more.
The idea that my work could be part of the fabric of my country and last for generations to come was incredibly inspiring.
Accepting the role at Parsons was an easy yes. Working here has given me the opportunity to learn from some of the greatest minds in the industry, gain hands-on experience on cutting-edge projects, and challenge myself every day. Choosing Parsons wasn’t just about advancing my career, it was about making a meaningful impact, pushing boundaries, and paving the way for the next generation of Emirati engineers. And I couldn’t be prouder of my decision to work as an electrical engineer here and contribute to a future where young Emirati girls can see themselves in roles they once thought were out of reach.
In the two years since joining Parsons, I can certainly say I have strengthened my expertise and broadened my perspective. Every project I’ve been part of has deepened my passion for engineering and reinforced my commitment to making a difference… and this is only the beginning.
Empowering the Next Generation of Emirati Engineers
I make it a priority to mentor and support younger Emirati women who are considering a career in engineering. I want them to know that with determination, passion, and the right support, they can excel in this industry. Seeing more women step into leadership roles in STEM is something I am truly passionate about, and I hope my journey encourages others to pursue their ambitions with confidence.
Throughout my time at Parsons, a few of the experiences and achievements I have enjoyed the most include:
- CPR & First Aid Certification: essential emergency response skills to ensure safety in various environments.
- Associate Project Manager Membership: recognizing my commitment to professional growth and excellence in project management.
- Mangrove Conservation Drive: the opportunity to learn about the vital role of mangrove trees in protecting coastlines, promoting biodiversity, and combating climate change.

Actively participating in initiatives like these are just part of what makes every day at Parsons unique. Environmental conservation was something I thoroughly enjoyed learning about and contributing to. As a result, I have a deeper appreciation for sustainability and the importance of protecting our natural ecosystems. Whether it was planting mangrove saplings or raising awareness about their ecological significance, this experience reinforced my commitment to making a positive impact on the environment.
Making a Difference: Engineering, Environment, and Empowerment
My journey began with a simple fascination with how things work, but today, it is fueled by making things work and a mission to inspire, create and lead.
If my journey inspires even one person to believe in their potential, then I know I am making a difference.
