Parsons Executive to Present the History and Future of the Brooklyn Bridge at the Roebling Museum

PASADENA, CA (March 10, 2016) – Parsons is pleased to announce that Kenneth Serzan, Vice President, will present “Reconstructing an Icon: The Brooklyn Bridge in its Second Century” at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, at the Roebling Museum in Roebling, NJ. Various artifacts from the original Brooklyn Bridge superstructure that were donated to the museum by Parsons will be on display.

Mr. Serzan has more than 38 years of experience providing engineering and design services for large, complex bridge projects throughout the world. His experience encompasses all types of bridges, including cable-stayed, suspension, arch, truss, and girder bridges. He has served as the lead technical manager, technical director, and/or project manager on numerous world-class, iconic bridges. In addition to the Brooklyn Bridge, Mr. Serzan has contributed to numerous structures in New York, including the Williamsburg, George Washington, Verrazano Narrows, Throgs Neck, Bronx Whitestone, and Goethals bridges.

The Roebling Museum, an industrial history museum focused on bridge engineering, is housed in a 1907 building on the 7-acre grounds of the former historic steel mill in Roebling. The museum presents the innovations of the John A. Roebling’s Sons Company, the builders of the Brooklyn Bridge and suppliers of wire rope that created the longest suspension bridges in the world at that time. The museum is part of the Roebling Historic District, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
