SH 99 Grand Parkway Project Wins Excellence in Concrete Paving Award

Parsons' SH 99 Grand Parkway Project Wins Excellence in Concrete Paving Award

Honoring excellence in concrete pavement projects constructed in the United States and Canada, the American Concrete Pavement Association has awarded the SH 99 Grand Parkway project (Segments F1, F2, and G) in Houston, TX, with a Gold Award in its annual Excellence in Concrete Paving Awards Program.

Parsons was the lead designer on the project team selected by the Texas Transportation Commission to develop, design, construct, and maintain segments F1, F2, and G of the 11-segment Grand Parkway project—from south of U.S. 290 in Harris County to west of U.S. 59 North in Montgomery County. The project consists of 37.8 miles of divided 2-lane controlled-access toll road that intersects 19 major roads and includes 4 major interchanges, 120 bridges, one river crossing, 1.8 million yards2 of concrete paving, frontage roads and associated drainage, and utility infrastructure. The overall Grand Parkway, when fully complete, will be a 180-mile highway that crosses seven counties in the greater Houston area.
