PASADENA, CA (May 25, 2017) – Parsons is delighted to announce that its corporate Marketing & Communications team has received two 2017 Communicator Awards: an Award of Excellence for People, Process, Technology, its 2016–2017 corporate brochure, and an Award of Distinction for its Bridging La Guaya River video. Awards of Excellence are given to entrants whose ability to communicate positions them as the best in the field, and Awards of Distinction are presented for projects that exceed industry standards in quality and achievement.

Parsons’ 2016 corporate brochure—which received an award in the Brochure – General Corporation/Business category—is a 40-page, full-color publication in which the corporation presents a sampling of its strong customer relationships and signature projects. The brochure is divided into three sections and features three different covers as well as an array of vivid photos and easy-to-read text. In addition, it includes information about Parsons’ intellectual property ranging from a proprietary cybersecurity software solution to a patented remediation technology. The brochure also highlights how the company and its employees give generously of their time, financial resources, and skills to make a difference in the communities where the company operates.
Parsons’ Bridging La Guaya River video—which received an award in the Video Social Responsibility category—documents the building of a 58-m footbridge over the La Guaya River in the small village of La Guaya, Colombia (northeast of Bogotá). In 2016, a Parsons team—in conjunction with Bridges to Prosperity, Puentes de la Esperanza, and the La Guaya community—built the bridge to help local children consistently and safely reach school and also to improve the community’s access to markets and medical services. The video demonstrates how Parsons’ team overcame challenging conditions, language barriers, and a fast-track schedule to complete the bridge in just 9 days.
The 2017 Communicator Awards featured a pool of more than 6,000 entries from across the United States and around the world, making it one of the largest and most competitive awards programs of its kind. The program is sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, an invitation-only group consisting of top-tier professionals from acclaimed media, communications, advertising, creative, and marketing firms.
