The Honorable Dr. John Hillen, a member of Enlightenment Capital’s advisory board and a previous Wash100 awardee, has launched a book that discusses the art of strategic thinking, how to set the right direction for an organization and how to turn strategic aspirations into reality.

Key Highlights of The Strategy Dialogues

Through the “The Strategy Dialogues: A Primer on Business Strategy and Strategic Management,” Hillen invites readers to “eavesdrop” on strategy workshops and conversations to allow them to gain insights on how to apply the basic tools of strategic thinking to real-world organizational challenges.

The book allows readers to delve into the heart of strategic management, learn about foundational frameworks and determine how strategic capabilities can be cultivated through discipline, focus and practice.

Industry Leaders on Hillen’s Newest Book

The former Assistant Secretary of State and award-winning professor’s latest book has drawn praise from GovCon industry leaders and experts.

“As a CEO, strategy is important for setting the long-term vision and direction for the company. Adapting to changing market conditions and rethinking strategy at the right time is also critical. John Hillen’s creative approach in this book helps readers virtually engage to learn the difficult tenets of strategic thinking,” said Carey Smith, chair, president and CEO of Parsons and a six-time Wash100 awardee.

Patrick Lencioni, president of The Table Group, described the book of the former U.S. Army officer as “practical as it is entertaining.”

“John Hillen makes strategy actionable and understandable in a way that everyone will be able to navigate, grasp and put into practice,” Lencioni added.
