New Chapter Begins With Regional Headquarters Opening In Saudi Arabia
There has been much to celebrate in EMEA recently, 2023 being its most successful year, and likewise, many important milestones achieved along the way in its 60+year history – yes, that really is how long we’ve been working in this region, But the 26th of February marked a significant landmark in its story, the official opening of a new Regional Headquarters (RHQ), in Saudi Arabia.
Located in the heart of Riyadh, a city in transformation and at the center of the Kingdom’s ambitious Vision 2030, our new ‘RHQ’ occupies the ground floor of the prestigious Burj Al Tamkeen (‘Tamkeen Tower’), some 22 floors below our colleagues in Saudi Arabian Parsons Limited (SAPL).
I had the honor of attending the ribbon-cutting ceremony led by our EMEA’s President Pierre Santoni and the RHQ’s newly appointed General Manager, Iain Cooper, alongside colleagues from across the region. The growth we’ve seen in Saudi Arabia over the past two years is incredible – we’ve more than doubled our employee count to nearly 3000 – an expansion that reflects our and our employee’s passion for supporting Vision 2030.
I’m immensely proud of the work our team is doing here; we’re involved in groundbreaking giga-projects like NEOM’s The Line and Oxagon, alongside the ambitious Red Sea Project, which focuses on sustainability. Across the Kingdom, our teams are helping to deliver significant programs in Yanbu and Jazan, Riyadh Metro, the historic Diriyah Gate, King Salman Park, Sports Boulevard and Roshn Developments, and the exciting new entertainment city, Qiddiya.
Our partnership with Saudi Arabia dates back to 1958, with those first airport projects setting the foundation for decades of collaboration. In 1976, we further invested in this relationship by establishing SAPL, our joint venture with the Dar Al Riyadh Group.
