Parsons is pleased to announce that Maria Lehman, PE, has joined the company as Vice President, Business Development Director, supporting Parsons’ Infrastructure group with business development and marketing growth strategy in the New York region. She brings to Parsons more than 35 years of multi-disciplinary experience in transportation and facilities.

Ms. Lehman has held leadership positions in both the public and private sectors with expertise in economic development; quality assurance; highway, transportation, and facility planning; design, management and construction monitoring; and emergency management, operations, and maintenance.
As the former Interim Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of the New York State Thruway Authority and Canal Corporation, she oversaw approximately 3.600 employees across the state, and the maintenance of the highway, bridges, facilities, intelligent transportation systems, toll administration, traveler services, E-ZPass, the Authority’s motorized fleet, and the NYS Canal Corporation. She also served as the Project Executive on the Mario Cuomo Bridge, a $3.9 billion design-build project.
Ms. Lehman, a registered professional engineer, holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She was the first female National Vice President for the American Society of Civil Engineers and currently serves as an Elected Fellow and National Assistant Treasurer. She is a board member for the Sustainable Infrastructure Advisory Board for the Zofnass Program for Sustainable Infrastructure at Harvard University. Ms. Lehman is based out of Buffalo, NY.
