Parsons Awarded Two Facility Upgrade Projects at GCA’s Bayport Facility

PASADENA, CA (June 11, 2018) – Parsons was recently awarded two facility upgrade projects by the Gulf Coast Authority (GCA) at its primary wastewater processing facility in Bayport, TX.

Parsons will provide detailed design and construction bid support services for an overflow pipeline to accommodate increased wastewater flow. The design will incorporate critical constructability considerations so that the plant can remain operational during construction.

The second project award includes detailed engineering and procurement support services for an upgrade to GCA’s BioSan Pipeline. Parsons previously completed the front-end engineering design study for the BioSan upgrade project.

“The GCA Bayport facility treats wastewater from more than 60 industrial clients and 2 municipalities via the 2.25-mile BioSan Pipeline,” said Mike Johnson, Parsons Group President. “We are pleased to be part of the effort to foster sustainability in the Gulf Coast region by treating one of the most diverse wastewater streams in the GCA system.”

Parsons has provided services at the Bayport facility since it was acquired by the GCA in 1974, including design, construction management, and startup of the plant’s wastewater treatment plant expansion.
