Daniel Louis, PE, GE, has joined Parsons as a Vice President based in the corporation’s Pasadena, CA, office. He will focus on the pursuit and delivery of large alternative delivery projects and provide support to major metro and tunneling projects.
Mr. Louis has 32+ years of experience in rail/transit, tunneling, heavy civil construction, and program/construction management, and he has served on major projects worldwide, including East Side Access in New York, West Rail in Hong Kong, the Antamina Mine in Peru, as well as several programs for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
“Dan’s technical skills and megaproject experience are a great addition to our growing alternative delivery capabilities, as well as for underground transit and tunneling projects,” said Aykut Urgen, PE, Senior Vice President. “He has worked on all project phases from planning through construction, and he has national and international experience with both traditional and alternative delivery projects.”
Mr. Louis has a strong background in cut-and-cover and bored tunneling, as well as rail and station construction, and he has led diverse teams to successful project delivery. His global megaproject experience has enabled him to understand and solve complex technical and management problems creatively and effectively.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Louis served as Vice President and Head of North America Civil Infrastructure for a global top-40 construction company as ranked by Engineering News-Record. His professional affiliations include the Underground Construction Association of the Society of Mining Engineers, the Construction Management Association of America, the Design-Build Institute of America, and the Associated General Contractors of California. Mr. Louis earned a Master of Science in geotechnical engineering and a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering, both from the University of California, Berkeley.
