PASADENA, CA (October 31, 2017) – Parsons announced that it has been honored by the Los Angeles Trade-Tech College (LATTC) Foundation as a 2017 “Dream Maker” for the corporation’s local community economic impact work. Parsons has a long history of providing labor relations and project management services for some of the largest public works construction projects in California, and currently facilitates the HireLAX Apprenticeship Readiness Program to prepare local residents for skilled craft labor careers to support the $15 billion capital improvement program at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
The free apprenticeship readiness program, which began last month, is a unique collaboration between Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), LATTC, Los Angeles Southwest College, the Los Angeles/Orange Counties Building and Construction Trades Council, Flintridge Center, Los Angeles County, the City of Los Angeles, and Parsons.
Parsons is the only company being recognized among the five honorees. The other honorees are Jacquelyn Dupont-Walker, President, World Economic Development Corporation; Amy Lemisch, Executive Director, California Film Commission; Douglas Marian, Business Manager and Financial Secretary-Treasurer, United Association Plumbers Local 78; and Ernest Moreno, Board of Trustees, Los Angeles Community College District.

Parsons’ “Dream Maker” award will be presented to Mr. Sloan by LACCD Board President Sydney Kamlager-Dove and State Senator Holly Mitchell’s office. The dinner was held on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at LATTC.
