PASADENA, CA (October 2, 2017) – Clyde E. “Sonny” Ellis, Jr., who has served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary of Parsons since 2008, has announced plans to retire in 2018. Effective October 2, 2017, Michael R. “Mike” Kolloway will succeed Mr. Ellis who will transition to the role of Chief Legal Advisor, supporting specific corporate activities.

Mr. Kolloway currently serves as Vice President & Deputy General Counsel – Americas, of Parsons. He has more than 30 years of legal experience, focusing on litigation, employment disputes, ethics and compliance, and transactional reviews. Prior to joining Parsons in 2016, he served as Senior Corporate Vice President/Assistant General Counsel for Operations and Risk Management at a global engineering firm where during his 15-year tenure he also reported directly to the Chief Executive Officer and fulfilled responsibilities of the acting General Counsel. Before that, he was a partner in the Chicago law firm of Rock, Fusco and Garvey and was a member of the Federal Trial Bar for the Northern District of Illinois.

Mr. Kolloway holds a juris doctorate degree from the University of Illinois College of Law. He serves on the In-House Counsel Subcommittee of the Section of Litigation of the American Bar Association. Mr. Kolloway has also coauthored chapters in two books on effective engineering contracting practices, and he often speaks at industry and professional conferences. He will be based in Parsons’ Pasadena, CA, corporate headquarters.
