PASADENA, CA (May 1, 2017) – Parsons is proud to announce that it has been recognized as a 2017 CIO 100 Honoree by International Data Group’s CIO magazine for the corporation’s Dubai Design District (d3) Smart City Information Communications Technology (ICT) solution. The annual award program recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT) and recipients are selected based on recommendations from external judges, many of whom are former CIOs.
D3 is a new, master-planned community that incorporates a modern Smart City ICT design to deliver an infrastructure that greatly improves the efficiency of city services, advances modern communications infrastructure in support of sensors, and implements platforms for collaborative social activities, predictive analytics, and smart remote working tools. Parsons designed the ICT infrastructure to leverage sensors, wireless and fiber optic networks, and cloud infrastructure for enabling District entities to define, build, and orchestrate smart applications. The ICT design enforces state-of-the-art security, with applicable data governance and access controls. It also promotes a centralized data hub for accommodating asset management, controlling communicating devices, supporting data analytics, delivering dashboards, and providing customer and agency service portals.
