Parsons Wins Four MEED Quality Awards for Projects 2017

PASADENA, CA (April 3, 2017) – Parsons is pleased to announce that two of its projects have been honored with four awards as part of the Middle East Economic Digest’s (MEED’s) Quality Awards for Projects 2017, which recognizes companies that are raising the standard for quality in project execution across the region. Judging criteria cover economic and social impact, environmental impact, and engineering, design, and construction achievements.

The Dubai Water Canal project received multiple United Arab Emirates (UAE) national recognitions: Innovation Project of the Year, Leisure & Tourism Project of the Year, and Mega Project of the Year. A uniquely challenging aspect of this project—owned by Roads & Transport Authority—was designing and arranging the detours, capacity, and speed limit for Sheikh Zayed Road to ensure it functioned without any traffic congestion issues during the Canal construction. Parsons provided infrastructure design and construction supervision services for the project (in a joint venture).

The Dubai City Walk project won the UAE Mixed-Use Project of the Year award. City Walk—owned by Meraas—was conceptualized to evolve into a city within the city. The community is meticulously arranged to create a unique and well-defined residential and commercial development that stands apart from others in its class. Parsons provided infrastructure design and construction supervision services.

“The winning projects are unique and add new dimensions to an ever-changing Dubai; we are pleased to see them recognized by MEED with quality awards,” said Gary Adams, Parsons Group President. “They stand as a testimonial to Parsons’ core value of quality.”
