Parsons Hosts Golf Tournament to Benefit Veterans Groups

PASADENA, CA (June 22, 2016) – Parsons hosted a Golf Classic on June 13, 2016, to benefit the Institute for Veterans Education and Training (IVET) and the Warrior Canine Connection (WCC) at the Augustine Golf Club in Stafford, VA. All proceeds from the event were donated to IVET and WCC, which offer programs that support veterans’ transition from military service to civilian life.

This is the ninth annual Golf Classic tournament hosted by Parsons. This year’s event brought together 125 golfers and raised more than $17,000 for the two organizations. IVET fosters educational and job opportunities for veterans, reservists, National Guardsmen, and their spouses. Donations support a host of programs and services, including education and training, outreach to employers and academic organizations, job placement, and life management. WCC enlists recovering warriors in a therapeutic mission of training service dogs for their fellow veterans. The program provides a valuable opportunity for warriors suffering from psychological injuries to reintegrate into civilian life and also benefits veterans with disabilities who receive the service dogs.

“Parsons is proud to support our military veterans through donations to IVET and WCC,” stated Mary Ann Hopkins, Parsons Group President. “Helping veterans adjust to civilian life is a small thank you for the sacrifices they have made to keep our country safe.”
