Parsons’ Walker Ford Elected to Women in Transportation Seminar International Board of Directors

PASADENA, CA (April 26, 2016) – Parsons is pleased to announce that Jannet M. Walker Ford, Vice President and North America Director of Policy & Strategic Programs for the corporation’s transportation market, has been elected to the Executive Board of Directors of Women in Transportation Seminar (WTS) International, an organization dedicated to building the future of transportation through the global advancement of women. Ms. Walker Ford will begin her 2-year term as Secretary on May 20, 2016, at the close of the WTS Annual Conference in Austin, TX.

Ms. Walker Ford has more than 20 years of transportation leadership experience, including program management and management consulting in the public and private sectors. Her diverse background includes aviation as well as rail and transit systems. She has expertise in developing and implementing business, technology, and financial solutions and strategies for organizational change, stakeholder engagement and communications, as well as government relations and business development. Ms. Walker Ford has served as Deputy Program Director for the Philadelphia International Airport’s multimillion dollar Capacity Enhancement Program and as the Deputy CEO/Deputy General Manager for the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, during which time she provided leadership for the design and installation of the Breeze Program, a $200 million, state of the art, smartcard based regional fare collection system—the first in North America.

Parsons is a long time supporter of WTS at both the international and local levels, and many of its employees hold memberships or leadership positions in the organization. As a WTS International Champion Corporate Partner, Parsons makes a substantial commitment in support of WTS’ programs and operations. In addition, through Parsons’ support of the WTS “Transportation YOU” program, girls ages 13 to 18 are introduced to various transportation careers through hands-on, interactive mentoring. The corporation also partnered with the WTS Toronto Area Chapter to launch its scholarship program and provided two academic scholarships for students focused on transportation-related studies.
