Parsons Honored at Big Sunday Gala

PASADENA, CA (March 10, 2016) – Parsons is pleased to announce that it was honored at Big Sunday’s first-ever gala, held on Wednesday, March 9, in Los Angeles. Parsons Chief of Staff Virginia Grebbien attended the event with several Parsons employee-volunteers on behalf of Parsons. Proceeds from the dinner will support Big Sunday’s events and year-round programming.

Since 2007, Parsons, its employees, and their families in California have been a part of Big Sunday, the largest volunteer event in the United States and one of Los Angeles’ annual community service events. Parsons employees from offices in San Diego to San Francisco have worked on projects ranging from volunteering in a local food bank to clearing brush in canyon areas. In 2015, seven of our offices worked on seven different projects throughout California.

“Parsons is honored to receive this recognition from Big Sunday for our continued participation in Big Sunday projects that support the communities in which we live and work, and we look forward to participating again this May,” said Ms. Grebbien. “I’d like to thank each of the dedicated Parsons employees and their families who have worked on Big Sunday projects throughout the past 9 years. I’d also like to recognize Nikki Cotton, Parsons’ Big Sunday coordinator, for her dedication to this important cause.”

Big Sunday started in 1999 as a single day of service and today offers more than 2,000 ways for people to help throughout the year. Big Sunday’s mission is to build community through community service, with the belief that everyone has some way they can help someone else. In addition to year-round programming, Big Sunday’s signature event is Big Sunday Weekend, which takes place in May. In 2016, Big Sunday Weekend will to expand to A Month Of Sundays.
