Parsons’ Roadwork Scheduling System Wins Ingenious Award

PASADENA, CA (February 1, 2016) – Parsons’ Roadwork Scheduling System (RSS) developed for the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) was recently presented with the Ingenious Award in the large private business category by the Information Technology Association of Canada.

“Parsons is honored to have received this award recognizing our ability to create user‑friendly IT solutions that support greater efficiency in transportation construction,” said Donald Graul, Parsons Group President. “Developed in collaboration with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, this technology eases the process for roadwork contractors, saves time and money for the MTO, and contributes to the improvement of road safety and traffic flow.”

The RSS is a web‑based technology solution to process, manage, and disseminate information relating to roadwork scheduling permits. The scalable processing application is simultaneously accessible by hundreds of users across many organizations, allowing contractors and the MTO to coordinate roadwork in real time.

The Ingenious Awards celebrate the use of technology to improve the performance of large and small businesses, large and small government operations, and not‑for‑profit organizations. Judging is based on clear demonstrations of measurable achievement and innovation related to the use of information and communications technology to address opportunities and challenges.
