Located in Dubai, The Wilds by Aldar is a nature-led residential development designed to harmonize urban living with biodiversity. Spanning over 140 hectares, the project introduces 383,800 sqm of natural parks, 60,000 sqm of nature-led amenities, and more than 10,000 trees. As a result, it creates a sustainable, walkable, and vibrant community.
Key Features And Open Space Vision
Key features include The Nest pavilion, five clubhouses, and wildlife observation points. These elements connect through pedestrian pathways, cycling routes, and nature-inspired trails. Moreover, with 28% open space, we place green landscapes at the heart of the community to strengthen character, livability, and long-term value. Because of this integrated approach, The Wilds achieves Fitwel Community 3 Stars and LEED Communities Platinum, setting a new benchmark for ecological restoration, active mobility, and community wellbeing in the UAE.

Walkability And Biodiversity-Focused Planning
The Wilds responds to Dubai’s urban challenges by creating a walkable, biodiversity-focused community rooted in habitat creation. We reduce car dependency through a connected walking and cycling network. Additionally, native and climate-adapted landscapes help restore local ecology and support everyday wellbeing.
We designed the site as a series of connected habitats that feature layered planting, shaded zones, water-edge landscapes, open clearings, and gently transitioning ecological areas. These habitats support birds, pollinators, and small wildlife. Because we lead the master planning and landscape design, we integrate native planting, wildlife habitats, and green infrastructure to create a resilient environment that allows nature to move, grow, and thrive over time. This approach also enhances the overall experience for residents.
Community Engagement And Nature-Based Experiences
Discovery trails, community gardens, interactive water features, and more than 30 dedicated fauna attractions encourage learning and stewardship. Furthermore, with over 400,000 sqm of parks and The Nest pavilion as a cultural anchor, The Wilds stands as a clear benchmark for nature-led residential development.

Ecological Restoration And Smart Green Infrastructure
Green landscapes sit at the heart of our development as a key driver of character, livability, and long-term value. As we target Fitwel 3 Stars and LEED Platinum, we embed community and sustainability frameworks across the masterplan. We also integrate smart infrastructure, including parking sensors, air-quality monitoring, recycling stations, smart waste bins, and EV charging. In addition, our external lighting strategy balances safety and atmosphere while minimizing ecological impact through low-glare, targeted illumination that supports night-time use without disrupting habitats.

Project Awards & News
In 2025, our team was recognized for our work on ‘The Wilds’ with an award in the Biodiversity & Ecological Restoration category for the Landscape Middle East Awards 2025.
Nature-Inspired Features And Wildlife Integration
The masterplan combines a rich mix of nature-inspired features that strengthen biodiversity and encourage daily engagement with the landscape. Feature arrival structures establish a strong sense of place, while cocoon hammocks, terraced boulders, floating yoga decks, and stone water bowls create moments for pause and reflection. We also integrate wildlife through nesting provisions, duck houses, beehives, and bird feeders. Finally, discovery trails, dry wadis, water streams, and community gardens promote learning, stewardship, and deeper connections with nature.
