Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment courses are a great option for organizations that require longer term planning for training in PAI investigation and signature reduction techniques. These courses are held online, several times per year, so that you have flexibility in keeping with your operational tempo, and students can gain collaborative insights from working in an inter-agency environment.

CASO™ II teaches advanced digital researchers to strategically target big data sets to extract time-sensitive digital artifacts and synthesize streamlined reports across multiple domains. This course is specifically for CASO™ I graduates and government only.

Advanced Digital Discovery (AD²)

AD² is a virtual interactive distance learning course featuring proven digital research methodologies from CASO™ and a program of instruction focused on applying effective research methodologies, irrespective of the tools being used, in a 1-week online format.

While this course does not result in a certification, our cadre of instructors inject the core CASO methodology to ensure that students build the critical foundation needed to manage their digital footprint while applying research techniques in the digital domain. Our unique and secure instructional platform utilizes US government-approved encrypted solutions that are Tier C compliant. This broad set of global compliance and data protection requirements includes ISO 27001, ISO 27018, EUMC, SOC 1 Type I & II, SOC 2 Type I and II, HIPAA and FERPA. This course is open to all.

Dark Web Seminar

Our 1-day Dark Web Seminar is designed to provide a foundational and advanced understanding of the hidden areas of the internet and digital identity on the dark web. Attendees will work through downloading Tor to conduct research and navigate the dark web. This course is open to all.

We have created a unique and secure instructional platform utilizing US government-approved encrypted solutions through Office 365 applications which are Tier C compliant. Dark Web Immersion

The CASO™ Specialty Dark Web Immersion Course is designed to provide a secure environment where researchers and analysts can develop a foundational knowledge of dark web networks and the content found therein. This course applies CASO methodology to the task of discovery and enumeration of entities on the dark web, and showcases a variety of tools and methods to maintain privacy and security while conducting online operations.

Through hands-on practical exercises and live demonstrations, we will help you gain an understanding of dark web research tradecraft which can be used to uncover risks to you, your organization, or your assets. This course is for CASO™ graduates and government only.

Kali Linux

The Kali Linux course prepares students to conduct OSINT investigations using a Debian-based Linux distribution. We train on both Kali and Ubuntu to highlight the utility of many of Kali’s built-in investigation tools. This is also an excellent way to introduce students to the Linux operating system, as we cover all the basics of Linux command line usage, including permission management and shell scripting to automate routine tasks. Students will earn how to locate and install additional tools from internet repositories including PyPi, Github, and Gitlab. They will also learn how to read script files and customize their tool installation to their needs or troubleshoot a malfunctioning installation. Students will also learn how to install containerized software such as Snaps, Flatpaks, and Docker containers.

CASO or CSR grads prepare to conduct OSINT/PAI investigations using a Debian-based Linux distribution.

Kali Linux Advanced

This advanced Linux course takes your skills to the next level by introducing complex topics such as Python virtual environments, customizing Jupyter Lab, and building professional-grade reporting templates. You’ll learn advanced Bash scripting techniques, including interacting with databases, utilizing storage structures, and automating tasks without user interaction. The course also covers configuring Linux devices, managing system configuration files, and creating scheduled automation tasks. By the end of this course, you’ll be able to write efficient scripts, manage complex workflows, and customize your Linux environment for optimal performance.

Advanced Open-Source Identity Threat Tradecraft (AOIT²)

The AOIT² course is an operational research approach utilizing publicly available information (PAI) with the intent of gathering and disseminating Entities of Interest (EOI) information to address specific mission requirements.

AOIT² is a ten-day in-person course that provides the skills necessary to conduct Identity Threat Tradecraft (Identification of EOI) process research in an open-source environment.

A five-day course is available for prior CASO graduates from Blackhorse, a Parsons Company. The CASO certification must be earned within the year prior to taking the expedited AOIT² course and have proficiency in open-source research. A five-day course is expedited using PAI research techniques learned in prior CASO courses,  with the intent of identifying EOI and providing actionable recommendations based on an Identity Threat Tradecraft methodology process. This version is tailored for those who are using CASO techniques regularly as the methodologies taught in CASO are not covered in the expedited version.

Virtual Operations Tradecraft Course

The Virtual Operations Tradecraft Course offers a comprehensive training on the management, strategic implementation, and effective deployment of digital sock puppets to bolster an organizations operation in the virtual domain. The course spans one week and guides students through the intricacies of crafting and maintaining digital sock puppets.

This course requires CASO as a prerequisite.

New! Artificial Intelligence eXplorer (AI-XR)

The AI-XR training module, provided to USGOV customers, equips analysts with the foundational knowledge and practical skills necessary to leverage artificial intelligence tools for Publicly Available Information (PAI) research in a secure, efficient, and attribution-conscious environment. As AI technologies rapidly evolve and become embedded in both adversarial and allied information environments, it is essential for practitioners to understand how to responsibly operationalize these tools. This course introduces analysts to the core functions of AI, its role in PAI/OSINT workflows, and its limitations regarding validation, attribution, and legality.

The Collaborative Engineering for Novel Technology and Advanced Research (CENTAR) course addresses a critical challenge in government software development and software solutions.
