BlueFly®

Revolutionizing Search and Rescue

QRC’s BlueFly® is a state-of-the-art detection device designed to enhance search and rescue operations. BlueFly’s primary function is to detect the presence of Bluetooth Low energy and Wi-Fi signals, identify the devices present and localize the devices based on the signal strength relative to the position of the drone.

How Does BlueFly Work?

Advanced Signal Detection Technology

BlueFly detects unintended, low-power Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signals, identifies the devices emitting these signals, and determines their location based on signal strength relative to a drone's position. This technology is especially helpful in quickly locating individuals carrying or wearing such devices, thereby speeding up rescue efforts.

Drone Compatibility

BlueFly is drone mountable and capable of covering large search areas quickly, significantly outpacing on-foot search parties. By scanning from an aerial perspective, it can efficiently map out the presence of devices in real-time, providing a comprehensive overview of the search area. The data collected by the BlueFly is transmitted in real-time to Team Awareness Kit (TAK) capable Android devices, allowing teams on the ground to receive immediate updates and respond accordingly, enhancing their efficiency and effectiveness in the field and ultimately increase the likelihood of a successful rescue operation.

Examples Of Items Detectable By BlueFly®

  • Phones, Air Tags, Tile Devices
  • Watches, Fitness Devices, Oura Rings, Ear Buds
  • Medical Devices: Glucose Monitors, Heart Rate Monitors, Hearing Aids, Pacemakers
  • InHome Devices: Nest Thermostats, Smart TVs
  • Drones and Passive Relays
  • Smart Devices: Water Bottles, BodyCams, DashCams, LED lights, etc.

Key Features Of BlueFly

BlueFly Use Cases

Lost Hikers and Campers

CIP icon

For individuals lost in wilderness areas or national parks, a drone equipped with a BlueFly Bluetooth detection device can quickly fly over vast areas and detect the presence of Bluetooth devices worn or carried by an individual, leading rescuers directly to the lost person's location.

Border Security

Unauthorized Crossing Detection Drones equipped with Bluetooth detection devices can scan vast border areas for the presence of Bluetooth signals. By identifying Bluetooth-enabled devices carried by individuals, patrol agents can quickly pinpoint and respond to potential areas of interest.

Monitoring High Risk Zones

Certain border regions are more prone to illegal activities such as smuggling or trafficking. Deploying drones with Bluetooth detection devices in these high-risk zones can help monitor and track movements, enhancing security and response efforts.

Disaster Response

In the aftermath of natural disasters like earthquakes, hurricanes, or floods, drones can be rapidly deployed to scan affected areas for high concentrations of Bluetooth devices allowing rapid and efficient deployment of search personnel to specific areas, significantly speeding up the process of finding and assisting those in need.

Surveillance of Remote Areas

In remote and difficult-to-access regions, drones with Bluetooth detection capabilities can provide continuous surveillance, ensuring that no suspicious activity goes unnoticed. This is especially valuable in areas where ground patrols may be less frequent or maneuver restricted.
