Quick Clearance Improves Safety And Keeps Traffic Flowing

Congratulations to Nevada’s Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Coalition, which recently received the Champion of Traffic Safety Award. Our Emergency Transportation Operations (ETO) group is part of the TIM Coalition, providing training and expertise to help emergency responders quickly and safely clear roadway incidents.

Our ETO group works with emergency responders around the United States to help them make the most effective use of technologies to implement the quick, safe clearance of roadway incidents. We emphasize the 3 C’s – Communication, Coordination, Cooperation – and lead the United States with over 25,000 first responders trained in the latest quick clearance practices. These practices have been proven to reduce the frequency of secondary crashes, which are often more severe than the initial incident, by as much as 51%!
