Traffic Incident Management and Operations

Safety and Mobility Through Fast Response and Elite Training

Transportation-related incidents happen. When they do, it’s important to have the right resources in place. Our traffic incident management (TIM) and emergency transportation operations (ETO) staff provides planned and coordinated programs that detect and remove incidents quickly, safely, and efficiently to keep traffic flowing. Parsons is committed to improving mobility and safety for the traveling public. Working with transportation agencies, first responders, tow providers, and other critical stakeholders, we’ve been instrumental in getting incident management legislation passed and working with the U.S. Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to develop a scalable framework, and we’ve managed programs that have dramatically reduced the time to recover from large-scale incidents and return to full functionality. In addition, we’ve developed and implemented plans designed to ensure efficient operations during evacuations and emergency management.

Mobility and Safety Don’t Happen by Accident

No TIM plan is complete without the full coordination and training of first responders and related staff. We employ industry leaders with decades of real-world experience in incident management and response, including former first responders, towing and recovery professionals, and traffic management experts, all of whom work together to help our customers address any challenge.

We’re a leader in providing qualified master instructors for the Strategic Highway Research Program 2 (SHRP2) Traffic Incident Management training program, which is the FHWA’s effort to standardize scene safety and incident management training for all classifications of responders. Drawing upon the experience of our team, we’ve trained more than 1,600 people who have brought that knowledge back to their communities.
