A Look Back On Our Fellows Accomplishments

The Value Of Our Fellows

Fellows play a lead role in supporting our project teams and solving the most challenging technical problems for clients, including the DoD, all military branches, the USACE, NASA, governmental transportation agencies worldwide, and various industrial clients such as ExxonMobil, DuPont, and Dow Chemical.

As a result of Fellows stipends, Fellows rolled out the AltEval algorithm as a multi-criteria decision analysis tool, which successfully served as a differentiator on successful project pursuits and is now in project use. We’re proud of the support provided during 2020 by our Fellows as we continue to enhance, extend, and transform our business.

Collaborations

They collaborated on multiple COVID-19–related efforts, including the following:

  • Worked with the NSA’s Cybersecurity Directorate to architect a solution to notify analysts of threats to national security systems, resulting in solution-supported COVID-19 operations
  • Collaborated with Duke University and Fraunhofer USA to develop two unique technologies for monitoring COVID-19 in wastewater and sewers
  • Participated in situational awareness and data analytics and smart/remote sensing COVID-19 campaigns
  • Worked with LumiQuick Diagnostics, Inc., and AdVnt Biotechnologies to identify opportunities focused on point of-care (POC) technology for detection of COVID-19
  • Created the our Fellows Distinguished Lecturer Program and Fellows Journal
  • Formed a team of SMEs to develop a high-fidelity, real-time simulation environment for a closed-loop operation of a synthetic-aperture radar installed on a missile
  • Developed a method to use mobile digital technology to collect bridge inspection data
  • Developed an advanced antenna model amenable to implementation, simulation, testing, and assessment by a COTS computational electromagnetic solver
  • Collaborated with the ASTM to create an international standard on the application of molecular biological tools (MBTs) for bioremediation
  • Collaborated with ExxonMobil and Imperial to increase the use of bioremediation and molecular biological tools at Canada and US sites
  • Advanced our UAV (drone) technical capabilities, including military applications and night vision
  • Created Diversity Outreach Involving Technology (DO IT), an initiative to support inclusion and diversity STEM programs and our recruiting and retention efforts
