PASADENA, CA (November 23, 2015) – Parsons has been awarded two competitively bid task orders under the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Cooperative Threat Reduction Integrating Contract II (CTRIC II) for the Lebanon Border Security Project and the Georgia Land Border Security Project. Under both projects, Parsons will work to enhance the ability of the government to deter, detect, and interdict weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and WMD‑related materials along its borders.
Parsons’ support to the Government of Lebanon will focus on the country’s 233‑mile border with Syria. Services will include the network integration of border‑security surveillance equipment, procurement of new equipment, and training related to equipment and concept of operations to enhance capabilities in command and control, communications, surveillance, WMD detection, and interdiction. Support to the Government of Georgia will focus on the country’s green border sectors, primarily the border with Armenia, with later expansion to its borders with Turkey and Azerbaijan. Parsons’ services will include surveillance equipment delivery, integration, training, renovation/construction of border facilities, and development of a sustainment program.
“Support for the Cooperative Threat Reduction Program is among Parsons’ top priorities,” stated Mary Ann Hopkins, Parsons Group President. “We look forward to our continued collaboration with DTRA to make the world safer by reducing the threat posed by weapons of mass destruction.”
