PASADENA, CA (March 2, 2015) – Parsons Corporation (Parsons), an international engineering, construction, technical, and management services firm, is pleased to announce that it has been selected to provide program management services for the New International Airport of Mexico City (NAICM). Parsons, as prime consultant for the NAICM, is partnered with both a local consulting firm (FOA Consultores) and a global engineering firm (CH2M HILL) for this 6‑year contract.
Parsons and its partners will provide a wide range of services for Mexico City’s new airport, including program/project management, project controls and contract administration, design management, construction management oversight, operational readiness, and airport transfer. This new aviation hub and international gateway will be one of the most sustainable and innovative greenfield airport projects in the Americas, creating a world-class facility that will enhance Mexico’s global competitiveness. The initial phase of the project will include three runways that can handle 50 million passengers per year. Subsequent phases will add three more runways with an eventual capacity for 120 million passengers per year, making it the largest airport in Latin America. In addition to meeting Mexico’s air transportation needs, the NAICM will further accelerate and promote sustainable economic and job growth for the region.
“Parsons and its team are honored to have been selected to support the Ministry of Communications and Transport and the country of Mexico in bringing to fruition a program that will create a world-class airport that serves as Mexico’s gateway to the world—and dramatically improves the current limitations for travel as well as promotes economic growth and job creation,” said Todd Wager, Parsons Group President.
