Project Description

Parsons is part of a tri-party Joint Venture with LTK Engineering Ltd. and S. L. King and Associates, Ltd., performing rail vehicle services for MARTA's CQ310, CQ311 and CQ312 heavy rail cars. The work involves:

  • Increasing rail car availability by providing shop floor support.
  • Developing the basis for implementing life cycle maintenance principles.
  • Developing the basis for implementing preventive maintenance principles.
  • Developing the technical requirements for the rehabilitation of CQ310 and CQ311 railcars.
  • Providing procurement phase support for the railcar rehabilitation procurement.
  • Providing technical support for the execution phase of the rehabilitation work performed by the car builder. This has involved providing engineering services, project controls services, technical support reliability, availability, maintainability, safety (RAMS), manuals and training, contract administration and production monitoring support.
  • Providing production management support for the conversion of CQ311 railcars from DC to AC propulsion and replacing the trucks under these railcars.
  • Providing document control for all the work.
  • Providing personnel to witness the performance of acceptance testing for the rehabilitated railcars.
