| SEPTA Customized Community Transportation (CCT) Communications System and Scheduling Software Upgrade Project |
Project Description
Parsons evaluated SEPTA’s current Customized Community Transportation (CCT) Communications, Scheduling and Dispatching Systems to determine the optimum technical and cost effective approach for integrating and upgrading the technology used to manage and monitor the CCT service. The project involves replacing and upgrading onboard Mobile Data Terminals, and interfacing to the current system software vendor, Trapeze. SEPTA’s planned CCT system expansion will increase the existing fleet of 300 vehicles to approximately 500 vehicles, and continue to provide operational service into the suburban counties (Bucks, Chester and Delaware County).
Parsons investigated a number of alternatives for combining and integrating various system elements to be utilized by CCT, including new voice and data services for mobile-to-dispatch communications. Parsons’ Final Design, which included provisions of Mobile Data Terminal units compatible with the latest scheduling software and current system migration from DOS to Windows operating system was completed in August 2005.
Services Provided:
Parsons developed contract specifications, drawings, and other bid documents for the purchase, modification, removal, and installation of equipment, systems testing, and all required training and services to implement a new integrated CCT communication system.
