Parsons Parsons

Bridge Planning

Since 1921, we have provided clients across the U.S. and around the world with planning and type selection services for a wide range of complex concrete, steel, segmental, suspension, and cable-stayed bridges. In particular, Parsons has planned many of the world’s longest bridges. These monumental structures span the world, from the Pierre LaPorte Bridge in Canada to the Karnali River Bridge in Nepal, and from the Tagus River Bridge in Portugal to the Hercilio Luz Bridge in Brazil.

We have performed work on more bridges than any other firm in the world, including more than 4,500 bridges of all types in more than 40 countries on six continents. Recent noteworthy examples include the innovative parallel Tacoma Narrows Bridge, the George S. Eccles 2002 Legacy Bridge in Salt Lake City, Utah, and concepts for the new Ohio River Bridges in Louisville, Kentucky. Parsons also completed the technical feasibility study for the world’s longest suspension bridge, the Messina Strait Bridge between Sicily and the Italian mainland.
