Project Description
Parsons was brought on board to plan, design, develop and operate much of the data management for the Enhanced Georgia Motor Vehicle Emissions Inspection and Maintenance Program and to operate virtually all of the quality control auditing support services for the program. The decentralized Georgia I/M Program consists of more than 750 test-only and test-and-repair stations that serve approximately 2.1 million motorists annually within the metropolitan Atlanta 13 county region. Within six short months of beginning the contract, Parsons developed and implemented an administrative system, quality assurance and quality control (including auditing and enforcement) program, training and licensing program, and the waiver, extension and exemption application system that allowed Georgia to meet critical federal deadlines.
In addition to managing multiple aspects of the Georgia’s Clean Air Force Program, Parsons’ experienced quality assurance specialists, data analysts, program operations managers, trainers and coordinators also conduct software acceptance testing on program equipment, certify stations and vehicle inspectors, produce monthly and annual program reports, and assist in various industry outreach activities. As in all Parsons' vehicle inspection and compliance projects, Parsons liaisons with program clients and officials on practically a daily basis to monitor the program’s progress in the areas Parsons is responsible for and plan for its future. Operating this EPA acknowledged successful program is truly a team effort and has resulted in a public acceptance rating of over 80%.
