Britt Joins Parsons as Director of Sustainability 

PASADENA, CA (September 2, 2010) – Parsons is pleased to announce that Randy Britt has joined the firm as Director of Sustainability for its commercial technology business unit. In this role, Mr. Britt will lead the development of sustainability programs and projects for buildings in the educational, healthcare, and local government sectors, as well as renewable energy and sustainability projects for utilities and energy markets.

Mr. Britt has 30 years of experience. Prior to joining Parsons, he directed the sustainability initiatives program for the second largest school district in the country—the Los Angeles Unified School District—comprising more than 14,000 buildings on 670 campuses over 700 square miles, serving nearly 700,000 students and 70,000 faculty and staff. Before that, he was CEO of his own energy and facilities services firm where he performed various consulting assignments including performing energy conservation and sustainable building audits, developing energy management system specifications, managing energy conservation project installations, and developing recycling programs. Prior to that, Mr. Britt worked for a national department store chain for 26 years, leaving as Divisional Vice President in charge of Engineering and Energy Management. He also served as a member of the original California Independent System Operator (CAISO) Governing Board, which controls the electricity grid in California.

Mr. Britt holds a bachelor of science degree in political science from Illinois State University. He is based in Pasadena, CA.
