Along with the thousands of conventional grade separations, we have built hundreds of dramatic arch, suspension, segmental concrete, moveable, and cable-stayed bridges. Our purpose in every bridge we construct is to carry traffic safely with sound engineering and world-class style.
Parsons’ bridges testify to our design management leadership. Selected as the winner of an international design competition, the Woodrow Wilson Memorial Bridge, for example, is a replacement bridge that crosses the Potomac River on the Washington, D.C., I-495 Beltway. The Williamsburg Bridge is one of only two bridges in New York City that carries both automobile and rail traffic. And, the new Tacoma Narrows Bridge, which links Washington state’s Seattle–Tacoma region to the Olympic Peninsula, is the first major North American suspension bridge in modern times to use the design-build delivery method.
