Our work in defense is broad. It covers everything from destroying chemical weapons to designing simulated villages to training our soldiers. We support the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) by providing support services in the following areas:

Newport Chemical Agent Disposal Facility
Newport, Indiana
As the systems contractor of the facility that is destroying the VX nerve agent stored at Newport Chemical Depot (NECD), Parsons is responsible for its design, construction, equipment fabrication, procurement, and installation, in addition to its systemization, operations, and closure. We have eliminated the VX nerve agent stockpile, safely destroying 100% of the agent in 1,690 ton containers. By safely and completely eliminating Newport’s chemical agent in an environmentally compliant process, Parsons and the Army have rid our nation of a potential terrorist target—as well as having contributed to our nation’s goal of safely eliminating an entire class of weapons and leading by example to a better, safer, and more humane world.
Some of Parsons’ defense work
- U.S. Army Sustainable Range Program (active, guard, and reserve). We provide comprehensive technical services in support of the Army’s mission to ensure sustainability of its military training ranges, lands, and operating areas.
- U.S. Marine Corps Worldwide Military Operations in Urban Terrain (WMOUT) Program. We are developing, delivering, installing, fielding, and testing high-technology solutions for military operations in urban terrain (MOUT) of both live and non-live fire training to the Marine Corps.
