Parsons Parsons

Project Overview

Enhancing Iraq’s national security is a top priority in rebuilding this war-torn nation. In March 2004, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded Parsons a contract to perform design-build services to rehabilitate and construct bases for Iraqi security forces, police and border control stations, fire stations, court houses, and prisons.

The work is performed in a 24/7 contingency environment, where project and construction sites are often targets of attack. Parsons focuses on accelerated design and construction of key facilities, confronting this dangerous environment with intense security training, close monitoring of the security situation, and making employee safety a top priority.

Much of the rebuilding is subcontracted to Iraqi construction and supply firms. This approach allows Parsons to expand job opportunities and provide experience to the local Iraqi workforce. In less than one year, Parsons completed 12 task orders, with work on 42 more under way throughout Iraq.
