ASME NQA-1 and ISO-9001 Capabilities
Parsons quality system is an integral part of our products’ lifecycles. It underlies the planning, engineering, fabrication, surveillance, audit, and client feedback for every piece of equipment we manufacture. Parsons Technology Development and Fabrication Complex (TDFC), located in Pasco, Washington, implements the quality assurance requirements for design, fabrication, assembly and testing to comply with industry standards, ASME NQA-1 Version 1989 and ISO-9001:2000.
Consistently meeting rigorous quality standards is essential when dealing in nuclear safety-related operations. To achieve this precision, TDFC has enhanced our certified ISO-9001:2000 Quality Program by implementing the 18 basic criteria, and most of the supplements, of ASME NQA-1, Quality Assurance Requirements for Nuclear Facility Applications, and 10 CFR 830, Nuclear Safety Management[MAR1]. To support the DOE and DoD, Parsons quality program has been evaluated and approved by our major clients: Fluor, Bechtel, CH2M Hill, and British Nuclear Group, America
Qualified Staff
- ASQ-certified quality managers
- AWS-certified weld inspectors
- ASNT-certified nondestructive testing (level III) personnel
- Certified NQA-1 lead auditor
- ASME, Section IX and AWS qualified welders
Special process capabilities ensure welding procedure specifications are qualified to ASME Section IX, Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and AWS D1.1
In-house, non-destructive examination inclues:
- X-ray
- Dye-penetrant
- Ultrasonic thickness
- Magnetic particle testing
- High precision, dimensional inspection using measurement and test equipment with calibration traceable to NIST
- Positive material identification via x-ray diffraction and material spectrum analyzer
Additional features include commercial-grade-item dedication using the Electric Power Research Institute NCIG-07 methodology, which allows upgrading non-qualified, commercial-grade items for use in nuclear safety-related applications. We also develop and control software for use in nuclear safety-related applications per NQA-1 Subpart 2.7.
