“You and your staff have done tremendous innovative work in design and fabrication that will certainly accelerate the disposal of the [chemical weapons] stockpiles in a safe manner.” Mario P. Fiori, Assistant Secretary of the Army
TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT and FABRICATION COMPLEX
Parsons Technology Development and Fabrication Complex (TDFC), located in Pasco, Washington, is a full service, integrated engineering and fabrication facility providing technology development, engineering, design, fabrication, repair, prototyping, installation, and operations capabilities. In addition, TDFC provides testing of highly specialized assemblies, components, parts, tools, and equipment that meets the exacting standards of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), NQA-1, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 830-120, and other federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. TDFC also provides support functions including hazard analysis, regulatory compliance, industrial safety, and training. We have a full complement of technical staff, skilled labor, extensive equipment resources, inspection and testing capabilities to support our clients’ complex needs. Government clients include DoD Chemical Demilitarization program, DOE Environmental Management program, and National Nuclear Safety Administration.
Our pool of highly skilled craftsmen who produce complex, unique products and equipment to support customer missions includes machinists, boilermakers, pipe fitters, welders, electricians, millwrights, sheet metal workers, and technicians.
Qualifications
- American Society of Non-Destructive Testing Technical Committee-1A inspection and testing
- American Welding Society (AWS) certified welding inspectors
- American Society of Mechanical Engineers Section IX and AWS welders
- Underwriters Laboratory-508A electrical capabilities
Washington Department of Labor and Industry (Washington State OSHA) awarded Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star status to TDFC following a rigorous 3½-day audit that demonstrated the facility’s safety and practices reached the highest level of excellence in workplace health and safety. Designation as a VPP Star site is a testament to sustained excellence in all areas of safety and health management. Less than 20 fabrication facilities in the U.S. have received VPP status. We are one of only 1,337 companies in the U.S. and one of only 23 in the state of Washington to achieve VPP Star Status.
TDFC occupies more than 250,000 square feet of space. The facility houses a 15-ton crane and a complement of over 200 pieces of metal working and machining equipment including:
- Plasma arc cutting to 3 inches
- Milling to 72 inches
- Turning to 60 inches
- Plate rolling and shearing to 5/8th inch
- Pipe bending to 4 inches
We also offer CNC machining and a complete welding process. Measurement equipment consists of computer controlled coordinate measuring machines accurate to +/- 0.0002 inches using the latest in direct inspection software.
TDFC owns patents on processes and equipment. We are a leader in the fabrication of highly complex systems for disposal of explosive ordnance, nerve agents, and high-level radioactive waste, and we are the largest equipment supplier for the U.S. Army Chemical Weapons Demilitarization program.
