Project Description
Parsons provides construction management support for many new or renovation projects throughout southern California. To date, Parsons has performed 120 tasks, including:
- Design and construction management of 10 USPS main and branch post offices
- Design and construction management of 6 USPS carrier annexes
- Design and construction management of 6 USPS finance stations/retail stores
- Construction management of 23 major renovation projects of USPS-owned and leased facilities
- Engineering studies of 10 prospective sites, including geotechnical investigations and preparation of a preliminary site utilization plan
- Architect-engineering surveys of 11 facilities being considered for purchase or lease including survey for condition of the facilities and compliance with codes
- Construction management services for 12 environmental projects
- Review of a site selected for a new main post office in Tehachapi, California. Parsons' alternate site, which is closer to the utilities concept, saved the USPS over $500,000
The City of Santa Barbara has very restrictive laws governing architectural styles for new facilities. Parsons worked closely with city fathers to introduce significant design revisions that meet city codes and standards. The result was a letter of commendation for achieving significant improvements and a facility everybody is proud of.
