Project Description

The rapid growth of the Ewa Plain on the island of O’ahu has led to heavy traffic congestion. The North–South Road is being built to allow the infrastructure of the area to catch up with the expansions Ewa has already experienced.

Parsons' contract for the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation (DOT) is to construct the first three lanes of the 2.5-mile roadway under the Phase 1A contract. Parsons is constructing the new roadway, drainage channel, and drainage basin in Ewa between the Ewa Villages and Farrington Highway. Work also includes clearing and grubbing, demolition, grading, installation of Portland cement concrete pavement (PCCP) and asphalt concrete pavement (ACP), curbs and gutters, sidewalks, storm drainage system, pavement underdrain system, lighting, grassing, temporary irrigation, erosion controls, and fencing.
