Parsons Parsons

Project Description

For the 100-DR-1 Remedial Action Project, Parsons removed and containerized approximately 220,000 cubic yards of low-level radioactive soil, hazardous waste, and concrete. Parsons' work also consisted of excavating and exposing 2 miles of buried 60-in. single-pass steel and concrete reactor cooling water piping and associated concrete structures and replacing it with smaller piping and structures. The contaminated soil and wastes were packaged in roll-off containers and transported to the staging queue. The excavations were then backfilled, and the site was completely restored.
