Project Description
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency contracted with Parsons to plan and conduct a series of three Asset Management Seminars to increase awareness of the methods, processes and results of the recognized best practices in asset management successfully developed and deployed in Australia and New Zealand over the past 15 years.
The first seminar included internal EPA training. The other two seminars included major water and wastewater utilities in the U.S. western and eastern regions.
The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that infrastructure life-cycle cost savings of 20-40% can be attained by applying the Australian-New Zealand asset management approach. Parsons was picked to provide this important technology outreach because of our world-class asset management capabilities, our alliance with the leading asset management firm in Australia, GHD, our first-hand knowledge of the Australian and New Zealand approaches, and our leading-edge project, the Orange County Sanitation District.
The seminars were later given to many state and municipal governments throughout the U.S.
