Project Description
Since the early 1980s, Parsons has partnered with IBM in a comprehensive program to improve and upgrade aging factory floors and production facilities throughout the U.S. The San Jose facility program is typical of our work for IBM.
Parsons provides facilities engineering management and design-build services under a multi-year teaming arrangement at this storage systems manufacturing and development site. We provided budget planning, facilities systems capacity planning and engineering, data collection and management, energy management, site capital plan consultation and site services information support, business controls, cost control review and evaluation, resource planning and measurement, measurement and evaluation of financial performance, and achievement of quality program goals.
We completed over 1,400 assignments on a 5-million square-foot facility made up of manufacturing, development, computer laboratories, clean rooms, customer training centers, and offices. Projects include:
- Design-build of a $4.5-million, 18,000-square-foot head arm assembly
- Design-build of a $3.2-million, 18,300-square-foot thin film disk manufacturing facility
- Implemented seismic upgrade design
- Completed five extensive design-build projects for Class 100 and 10,000 clean rooms
- Designed-built a series of manufacturing operations within Class 100 clean areas
- Office consolidation cost efficiencies
