The Engineering Department supplies experienced personnel to provide engineering and design services in the following areas:

• Technical Support - Provide expertise in structural dynamics, analytical mechanics, vibration and stress analysis, wave propagation and ground motion, fluid dynamics and heat transfer, weapons effects and hardness evaluations, shock and vibration isolation, statistical analysis, materials application, geotechnical, welding, and manufacturing
• Engineering Systems - Quality control, computer-aided design (CAD), and technical library
• Technology Section - Technical and statistical analyses
• Project Coordination - Project engineering coordination, document control, project data distribution, and mechanical data books
• Architectural - Master plans, building and interior design, and landscaping
• Civil - Site development, grading and drainage, sanitary and storm drains, water and wastewater treatment, underground piping, roads, railroads, harbor facilities, and pipelines
• Structural - Concrete and steel structures and foundations
• Piping - Plot plans and equipment layouts, piping design, models, isometrics, piping stress analysis, piping specifications, and piping material takeoffs
• Mechanical Equipment - Manufacturing layout, bulk material, handling systems, elevators, cranes, hoists, monorails, fluid power systems, exchangers, heaters, process water treating, columns, tanks, reactors, pumps, compressors, and turbines; heating, ventilating, air conditioning, plumbing, dust control, energy analysis, life support systems, air pollution control systems, noise control, fire protection design, plumbing, welding, and materials applications
• Electrical - Power generation and distribution, lighting, grounding, communications, and lightning protection
